Superparamagnetic Iron Oxide Nanoparticles

Magnetic nanoparticles prepared at Nanoprobes have been used to treat cancer with an 80% + cure rate in mice, using an experimental hyperthermia therapy (magnetic heating of injected superparamagnetic nanoparticles). The iron-based nanoparticles have been carefully engineered for both compatibility and superparamagnetic properties – and heating in an alternating magnetic field.
