Recombinant Human ACE-2

Angiotensin I converting enzyme 2 (ACE2) is an exopeptidase that catalyses the conversion of angiotensin I to the nonapeptide angiotensin[1-9].¹ ,or the conversion of angiotensin II to angiotensin 1-7.² ACE 2 has direct effects on cardiac function², and is expressed predominantly in vascular endothelial cells of the heart and the kidneys.³ ACE2 plays a regulatory role in lung pathophysiology, including pulmonary fibrosis and acute lung disease. Activation of ACE2 by a small molecule can be a therapeutically relevant approach for treating and controlling Pulmonary Hypertension (PH).⁴ ACE2 may also have clinical potential as a novel molecular target for the treatment of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC).⁵
