Polyol detergent, block-copolymer. Pluronic™ PE 6800. Poloxamer 188. Poly(propylene glycol) (Mr ca. 1 750): polyethylene glycol ca. 1:4.MP ca. 55 °C.Strongly hydrophilic detergent (HLB approx. 29). More than 10 % soluble in water, forms foams moderately. Used in cell culture to protect microorganisms, animal and plant cells against mechanical damage.
