Recombinant Human IL-19

Interleukin-19 (IL-19) is a secreted protein that belongs to the IL-10 family of cytokines along with several other interleukins including IL-10, IL-20, IL-22, IL-24, IL-26, and several virus-encoded cytokines. Members of this family share partial homology in their amino acid sequences but they are dissimilar in their biological functions. IL-19 is expressed in resting monocytes and B cells and is up-regulated in monocytes following stimulation with granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor (GM-CSF) or lipopolysaccharide.¹ In addition, IL-19 may play important roles in inflammatory responses due to its ability to upregulate IL-6 and TNF-alpha as well as induce apoptosis.² Human and murine IL-19 share 71% amino acid sequence identity.
