PODi-3, yellow fluorescent nucleic acid (22810)

PODi-3 is a dimeric carbocyanine dye with yellow fluorescence. PODi-3 is a non-permeant nuclear dye that does not fluoresce in the absence of nucleic acids. The dye significantly (approximately 500-fold) enhances its fluorescence upon binding to double-stranded DNA. PODi-3 can be used as an intercalating agent and for nucleic acid staining in various analytical methods: flow cytometry (cell cycle analysis), fluorescence microscopy (nuclei and microbial imaging), for counting erythroblasts, reticulocytes, spermatozoa, and megakaryocytes, and for nucleic acid quantification. PODi-3 is ideal for multicolor fluorescent labeling due to its bright signal and low background fluorescence.
