Description

Ross River Virus (RRV) is a mosquito-borne, positive sense, single-stranded virus endemic to Australia and Papua New Guinea that belongs to the arthritogenic group of alphaviruses1. The mature glycoprotein is composed of E1 and E2 envelope proteins in a heterodimer, expressed as a trimeric spike on the virus surface 2. B cells were transformed with Epstein-Barr virus and then screened by direct virus binding ELISA. Hybridoma lines were established and mAbs were purified by single-cell flow cytometric sorting. Clone RRV-12 is of the IgG1 isotype and is capable of binding and incompletely neutralizing prototype strain RRV T48 in a focus reduction neutralization test1.
