Description
Caliciviridae are non-enveloped, icosohedral viruses with capsids surrounding single-strand positive-sense RNA. This family of viruses include Norovirus (Norwalk virus) and Feline calicivirus. Species of Norovirus frequently give rise to outbreaks of foodborne and waterborne gastroenteritis in humans. Feline calicivirus causes upper respiratory disease in cats.
