Anti-Human IL-17E Purified No Carrier Protein (Clone: 182203)

IL-17E, also known as IL-25, is a novel member of the IL-17 family of cytokines¹ and a unique pleiotropic cytokine and may be an important mediator of inflammatory and immune responses.² IL-17E has a heterodimeric receptor. The receptor is composed of two subunits IL-17RA and IL-17RB. Although IL-17E only binds IL-17RB directly, both subunit receptors are essential for IL-17E functions. IL-17E induces activation of NF-κB and stimulates production of the proinflammatory chemokine IL-8. ¹ IL-17E may contribute to the induction and maintenance of eosinophilic inflammation in the airways by acting on lung fibroblasts and therefore has a role in asthma pathophysiology.³
