Nanoprobes offers a line of Alexa Fluor® 647 FluoroNanogold™ antibody and streptavidin conjugates labeled with both Alexa Fluor® 647 dyes and the 1.4 nm Nanogold® particle. The dual labels are covalently attached to the antibody and streptavidin, enabling both fluorescence and electron microscope observation of the same structure in a single labeling procedure. The Alexa Fluor® 647 dye is a bright, far-red–fluorescent dye with excitation ideally suited for the 594 nm or 633 nm laser lines, and is useful in stochastic optical reconstruction microscopy (STORM). It can also be used in two-photon excitation (TPE) microscopy . The presence of the 1.4 nm Nanogold® particle allows electron or light microscope detection with and without silver or gold enhancement . The presence of both the fluorescent and the gold labels make correlative microscopy study possible.
