3CAI is a specific and potent AKT1 and AKT2 inhibitor. 3CAI is a significantly more potent inhibitor of AKT1 than of PI3K. It markedly reduces AKT1 and AKT2 activity in a dose-dependent manner, leading to suppression of downstream AKT signaling and induction of apoptosis.
