Protamine Sulfate

Protamine sulfate is a small cationic protein which serves as an effective substrate for cytosolic protamine kinase (cPK; GLO117-100) and many other protein kinases. It may also be used for the removal of DNA from protein samples or for the purification of DNA binding proteins, and as an alternative to polybrene in retroviral-mediated gene transfer. Protamine sulfate neutralizes the anticoagulant activity of heparin. It also inhibits lipoprotein lipase.
